All signs are pointing to a December 7 reveal of the Chrome OS from Google, along with the first netbook to feature the OS. The Chrome Web Store is expected to open that day, and Google is holding an event to make an announcement on something. The netbook is expected to be a very limited release, with only about 65,000 units being manufactured. The OS itself is said to still be in a beta state, and won't be ready for consumer use anytime soon. Also, Chrome 8 was recently released, and that version of the browser supports web apps. Chrome OS will make full use of these apps, and the release of them seems like another indication that the OS will finally be unmasked. Stay tuned for further developments this week.
