Coby Electronics today unveiled its new value-conscious tablet, the Coby KYROS Tablet MID7015. The Kyros features a 7" 800x480 resistive touchscreen, 4GB of internal flash memory (expandable up to 16GB via a built-in micro SD card slot) and wireless 802.11b/g connectivity - all powered by the Android 2.1 OS. The new tablet will enable consumers to access the internet, check email, play music and movies with the option to output Full HD (1080p) or 720p picture to a HDTV using a mini-HDMI cable. Other connectivity features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone port, a built-in speaker and a USB 2.0 port. Of course, a vast range of apps will be available to download using the AppsLib application but the Kyros will also include the Aldiko E-book app pre-installed among others. The Kyros tablet runs on a Telechips TTV8902 800MHz processor backed by 256MB of DDR2 memory, which will both be powered by a 3200mA rechargeable Li-poly battery. The Coby Kyros MID7015 is available immediately from major retailers at a suggested retail price of $249.99, positioning it perfectly as an attractive consumer item this Christmas break.
