Thinnest External Hard Drive by Hitachi

Hitachi announced the thinnest external hard drive on the planet to date yesterday, dubbed the G-DRIVE Slim. While still conforming to the 2.5 inch form factor, this measly little thing measures in at an incredible 128.6mm x 82mm x 9.9mm. To put this almost anorexic size in perspective, a regular MicroSD card, you know the kind you put in your smart phone, is 20mm in length compared to Hitachi's hard drive which is 9.9mm thick. Aesthetically, this drive is very simple with an aluminum housing, a black plastic border, and a capital "G" on the upper section for some pizzazz. The G-DRIVE Slim will have only one option for capacity at an astonishing 320GB, and will use the tried and true USB 2.0 for its interface. The drive is mainly marketed for the Apple market, although that shouldn't stop most of OCC's members from just reformating it to NTFS for their Windows machine. The G-DRIVE Slim is available for $100 in Apple stores and online.
