Mozilla has announced that the Firefox 4 beta is now available for the Android OS. The mobile browser will feature Firefox Sync and Add-ons, among other features of the desktop browser. The major goal of this release was to increase performance over previous iterations. In addition to Electrolysis, allowing the browser to run as a separate process, Layers was also added. Layers increases graphics performance in scrolling, zooming, and animations. Firefox Sync allows you to take your bookmarks and passwords from your desktop to your phone and vice versa. The data is encrypted, keeping your information safe. Firefox continues to support technology such as HTML5, CSS, and Javascript, allowing for apps and add-ons to enhance the mobile experience.
