To go along with our earlier reports of the fourth DLC for Borderlands, Gearbox Software announced at PAX exactly when it would be launching. The fourth DLC, titled Claptrap's New Robot Revolution, will launch on September 28th for $9.99 for the PC, PS3, and 360. In addition to the DLC bringing forth new missions, more skill points and backpack slots, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford had a surprise up his sleeve. Around the time the DLC launches, a patch will go out that will increase the level cap by eight. This will bring the level cap up to 69 if you also have the third piece of DLC that increased the cap by eleven, however that DLC is not required for this patch as it will be released to everyone for free. This is sure to be welcome news for fans of Borderlands who have been clamoring for an increased level cap and now it will come. No word on exactly when the patch will hit that raises the level cap, but Gearbox says it will be out around the time of the fourth DLC. Also, a Game of the Year edition of Borderlands will be launching on October 12th that will include all four pieces of DLC for $59.99.
