It was just two weeks ago that OCC reviewed the Palit GTX 460 1GB Sonic Platinum graphics card and we really liked what we saw. The GTX 460 cards were originally released in versions containing either 768MB of GDDR5 memory or 1GB of GDDR5 memory. Palit has just announced it is releasing a new member of its GTX 460 Series - the GTX460 Sonic 2GB containing 2GB of high speed GDDR5 memory designed to provide extreme performance at the highest resolutions.

Like the Sonic Platinum card we reviewed earlier, the Palit GTX460 Sonic 2GB is factory overclocked. It's 700MHz core speed is 25MHz higher than reference speed with the 2GB memory clocked at 1800MHz. The larger frame buffer combined with the factory overclock means gamers can enjoy extreme performance playing DX10/DX11 games at higher resolutions with the best quality image. Compared to the previous generation of GeForce GTX 285 2GB cards, the Palit GTX460 Sonic 2GB achieves 12% better performance at 1920x1200 resolutions.

Palit did not provide information on pricing or availability.
