I do not know how many people have anything capable of displaying a 4K video, but YouTube is not going to let an opportunity pass by. During the VidCon 2010 conference today, YouTube officially launched support for videos shot in 4K to be displayed on its website. That is right, videos up to 4096x3072 resolution will now be enjoyed on YouTube. Now, there are not too many 4K camcorders or projectors in common use so this new format will only be aimed at a select market but at least they can now enjoy a video at the massive resolution. If you want to try the 4K videos out for yourself, just select the "Original" option though be warned the bandwidth pull will be excessive.
