Network Attached Storage, or NAS, products have become increasingly popular in recent years. People want to add storage and have it available to multiple computers, and they want it to work with minimal setup. The new ReadyNAS Ultra product line from Netgear, is designed to appeal to "hardcore digital enthusiasts." The Ultra line will feature Intel Atom processors, X-RAID2 functionality, and compatibility with TiVo. Users will be able to easily handle encoding, decoding, and streaming of HD content. Users aren't limited by location, either, and can stream to mobile devices anywhere. The inclusion of transcoding will ensure that the content will always have the right resolution for the device. The ReadyNAS Ultra comes in 2, 4, and 6 bay designs, with the 4 and 6 available immediately. The starting price of these units is $600 and $900, respectively.
