Chances are you have never heard of Quanta before. If you use a laptop sold by HP, Dell, or Sony, then you are using a Quanta built laptop. Quanta has set a record high for shipments and revenue in June. The reason is contributed to smaller component shortages, like the new Intel Arrandale chips, and that customers placed orders in early June so that the laptops would ship out before July hit. The company expects things to slow down in July, but exactly how much did Quanta sell this past month? 4.8 million laptops that generated $3.1 billion in revenue. Staggering numbers really and it is the main reason Quanta is the number one laptop manufacturer in the world. The previous high was 4.3 million laptops sold which Quanta hit this past April. So long as Intel can keep up demand of its chips, I think Quanta will break yet another record before long.
