Windows 7 has beaten Windows Vista's market share in a record, you guessed it... 7 months. Janco Partners Inc., a technology research firm has announced that Windows 7 has established a 14.8% share in the global computer market. This makes Windows 7 the fastest selling operating system of all time, not to mention the world's second most-used operating system. To put this feat into perspective, Vista never passed it's older sibling Windows XP. With Windows 7 selling like hotcakes it's no wonder that its been a mainstay of Microsoft's profits over the last two quarters. It looks inevitable that Windows 7 will eventually surpass Windows XP, a great achievement in comparison with Vista's sales. I can personally say that I'm one of the many users who made a direct transition from Windows XP to Windows 7, and I'm sure that there are many others who have done, or will do the same given the current trend.
