Sure, 3DTVs are suddenly becoming all the rage these days and some of them even include various apps built in. But what about a television that has the Android OS built right in? This is exactly what the company called People of Lava want to bring to the market later this year, with an Android-powered TV dubbed the Scandinavia. People of Lava is a Swedish company that is claiming its Android-powered TV is the world's first of its kind. The initial TV will be a 42 inch, 1080p model that also boasts internet connectivity with plans for 47 inch and 52 inch models to follow. The Android capabilities will include applications for YouTube, Google Maps, the weather, an internet browser, Facebook, Twitter and more apps that you can download from the marketplace. The TV will also have a USB port to presumably connect your camera or even a portable hard drive to display pictures and videos directly on the screen.
The Scandinavia TV will be launching this September for a price between €2,000 and €2,500. That roughly will be between $2,695 and $3,370.
