ADVANTI, a Bahrain-located etailer has divulged (what it claims are) the official prices of two of the upcoming AMD hexa-core Phenom II CPUs. First up is the Phenom II X6 1090T with a clock speed of 3.2GHz, a 9MB total cache, a TDP of 125W and a reported retail price of $295. Next up is the lower-end 1055T which is identical to the 1090T but runs at 2.8GHz and should retail for $195. Both hexa-cores mentioned (as well as the rest of the X6 series) are compatible with the AM3 socket and DDR3 memory. The 1090T, being a Black Edition CPU also features an unlocked multiplier and it is also expected that the 1055T will be available in a 95W variant. There are also two other models in the Phenom II hexa-core series from AMD, the 1035T and the 1075T with clock speeds and TDPs ranging from 2.6GHz to 3GHz and 95W to 125W. All CPUs are based on the AMD 45nm "Thurban" architecture and should be released late next month.

That's probable. We'll see! The prices seem about right. :)

I am building a new computer but don't want it to be out of date in a year or two. I was talking to someone and he said to get the phenom ii x6 instead of the i7 because it will probible be up to date for a longer time. Do you guys have any thoughts on the subject? Any help would be great.

I would bet that the X6 would outlive an i7, simply because software is getting more and more threaded each day. When I bought my machine back in '07, I had the choice of either a 2.4GHz Quaddie or a 3.0GHz dual. I got the quad and it's proven to be the more "future proof" route, especially with games like BFBC2.
