The beta for the upcoming release of Ubuntu is now available. The full version of Lucid Lynx will be available sometime in April, and will be a long-term support release. This will be the first LTS release since 8.04, which will be two years old when the new version is released. The new version will feature several improvements to stability, but will feature a visual upgrade as well. Gone are the days of the default brown color scheme, the new one looking much more vibrant in my opinion. Also to be included are a new panel notification area interface, as well as social networking tools.

I never minded the brown so much. I'm just waiting for them to fix the vertical panel bug. (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86382) Which has been a problem in gnome for 8 years now it appears.

At this rate, I'm considering Ubuntu as a main operating system, and Windows as a secondary. But I'll just have to see I guess how much 10.4 brings to the table. But it's looking like this will be a nice release.

The last release would not recognize my wireless card to save my life so I finally gave it up and went back to Win 7. The odd thing is, previous versions of Ubuntu did work with my wireless card so I'm not sure what happened. I may try this version out but if I have the same problem it's going in the trash.

Yeah I did. I searched for several hours and tried several methods used by others who were having the same problem and nothing worked.
