Last month, Sprint made it known that it would release the Android 2.1 update in the early part of the second quarter this year. That would put the update at sometime this April, but it may be coming sooner than anyone thought. A few customers managed to get a response out from Sprint – a bit before the end of March, March 26th to be exact. The 2.1 update will be available for the Samsung Moment and HTC Hero, though official word from Sprint seems to point to a later date. An employee said that the update will be coming over the next few weeks with more information to follow in April. So, Sprint customers may get the Android 2.1 update in a week or sometime in the next month. Whichever it is, will it be before Verizon updates the Motorola Droid with the 2.1 software?
