YouTube has announced that all of its content will soon be available to the deaf and hard of hearing through the use of an automatic captioning system. Up till now, the service was limited to content available from select partners, but will now be available to the remainder of the sites content. The speech recognition technology has been in development at Google for some time and can handle various degrees of accent variation and pronunciation, among others. The system isn't flawless, and in the given example, sim card was mistaken for salmon.
