Google has officially acquired Picnik, a Seattle based company that allows its users to edit photos online. This will add to the expanding portfolio of “cloud” applications belonging to Google. The site is free to use, though premium memberships can also be purchased. The site is compatible with the 3 major operating systems, and can import photos from several popular sites including Facebook and Flickr. I've never used it, but have heard that it is a robust editing suite. There will be no changes to the operation of Picnik, but Google will be looking into integration with its current products.
