PowerColor Launches ATI Radeon HD 5670 Videocard
PowerColor joined AMD today with the launch of the Radeon HD 5670 graphics card. Targeted at the mainstream market the HD 5670 offers users the chance to upgrade to DX11 technology at an affordable price. The PowerColor HD 5670 comes with a core clock speed of 775MHz and a 1000MHz memory clock. The card uses GDDR5 memory with 128-bit memory bandwidth and is being offered with either 512MB or 1GB frame buffers. Normally cards at launch follow the reference design very closely with upgraded versions to be offered later. PowerColor is bucking that tradition by offering a customized cooling solution from Arctic Cooling at launch. The 92mm fan increases airflow at a lower fan speed which reduces noise while also helping dissipate the heat from the PWM and memory. The core is manufactured using a 40nm process and power requirements have been reduced to the point where the card requires no external power connectors. The HD 5670 also supports CrossFireX and ATI stream technology. PowerColor didn't disclose availability information and a quick online search turned up only one site listing them in stock.
