The already popular Ford SYNC technology that is featured in select Ford vehicles, is being used as the foundation of a new technology called MyFord Touch. The offering showcases multiple screens as well as touch screen abilities on the main screen, which is sized at 8-inches and found in the center console. Information that is useful to the driver is displayed on the main screen, while there are also four different categories that can be selected from the menu, including phone, climate, navigation, and entertainment. Users can interact with MyFord Touch by using their voice, as seen with the widely available Ford SYNC technology, but can also now use the touch screen controls, as well as controls built into the steering wheel for use with MyFord Touch. Flash and Silverlight will be supported in the new technology, as it features a brand new browser, and also texting abilities as part of the entire update. The first Ford branded model car that will receive the new upcoming technology will be the 2012 Ford Focus, while next year the Lincoln MKX will feature MyLincoln Touch for the first time, which is fundamentally built upon the same exact features.
