Yesterday Comcast announced that its On Demand Online service has been renamed to Fancast XFINITY TV and that it is now available nationally at no extra cost to current cable and internet subscribers. While currently in beta, Comcast says the new service gives customers a “anytime anywhere” entertainment experience with quick and easy access to thousands of hours of content.
"Fancast XFINITY TV is a win for consumers and content producers. We’re giving customers access to content they love in new ways and opening up new opportunities for established and independent producers to make their content available on-demand” said Matt Bond, Executive Vice President of Content Acquisition. “This new service brings consumers many movies and TV shows that have never been available online before."
Simply visit fancast.com and use your Comcast account username and password to access the free content. According to Engadget, a browser plug-in is required which will authorize up to three browsers per account.
