Sony Still Losing on PS3
When Sony released the Slim PS3 earlier this year, it was hoping that it would finally be able to make a profit from console sales. Sony is losing much less than at the initial launch, losing less than $40 per console sold. This is even more impressive as the price of the PS3 was dropped when the Slim PS3 was introduced. Sony was able to sustain this model due to revenue collected from game and other sales. Sony is expected to reach the break even point very soon as the price of components continues to fall.
