In what is still a heavily communist country, Vietnam has gone through various plans to restrict access to certain websites and other multimedia in an effort to stop dissent. Sadly, they have now blocked Facebook from being available to everyone living in Vietnam, though some people have been able to get around the blocking by using an open DNS setup or by using proxies that are able to work around the restrictions. Earlier this year, there was a localized version of the popular social networking site released for the approximately 1 million users, but it has now been blocked completely in the country, though Vietnamese authorities have not given the exact reason beside dissent.
