Google will be entering the growing e-book market in the first half of 2010 with Editions, its own online bookstore. However, Google is putting a different spin on the idea, and will sell books with no DRM. The books will be readable on nearly any e-reader. In addition, books purchased from Google Editions will be available on any device with a web browser. Users will be able to read books on their PC, an e-reader, or a web enabled phone. The latter seems to indicate that compatibility will be integrated into Android at some point. The service will launch with roughly 500,000 titles, and will bring some interesting changes to the market.
