Steve Ballmer has announced that Microsoft has no plans to enter the portable e-reader market. Rumors had been swirling around a Microsoft device referred to as “Courier” which would have similar features as that of the Kindle from Amazon. Ballmer stated that Microsoft didn't need to create an e-reader as it already had the most popular e-reader available, the PC. Ballmer did however state the he would like it if Amazon and other companies released their content for the PC. By bringing its service to PCs, Amazon would be able to greatly expand its business, as roughly 90% of all computers run Windows.
