You will soon be able to add Verizon to the list of carriers with Android based phones. Verizon will be partnering directly with Google to bring Android based handsets to the Verizon Wireless network. With more than 87 million customers, the potential for expanding the Android user base is tremendous. The two companies have announced that both Motorola and Samsung are likely to provide the phones for this venture. Verizon plans to release two phones by the end of the year. Verizon has also announced that its Android phones will have full support for Google Voice, the app which Apple and AT&T refused to let on its phones. This is honestly the Android announcement I have been waiting for all along. I can't wait to see what comes out of this.
