About a week ago, it was reported that Australia was going to ban the selling of the popular upcoming title, Left 4 Dead 2, due to its extreme violence. Oddly enough, Australia does not have a mature rating for people over eighteen years of age, and the title was not deemed fit for anyone to play the game who is under that age. Valve is taking the issue very seriously, and plans to follow up the announcement with an appeal; stating that the game could be rated at the highest maturity rating, with added notices on the box. The original Left 4 Dead was sold in such a manner, and Valve is hoping that with its appeal being filed, it will be able to sell its upcoming title for everyone to be able to play.
