Gigabyte wants to challenge you to a videocard overclocking competition that coincides with the recent release of the Super Overclock Series of graphics cards. Contestants will compete against the top scores set by Gigabyte's in-house overclocking team to win cash and prizes.
The Beat Me If You Dare competition will be held in three rounds beginning October 1st and ending December 31st. In each round the champion will receive $1,500 US in cash. Second prize is a new GIGABYTE GTX295 graphics card, the latest high-end NVIDIA card with dual GTX200 GPUs. The third place winner in each round will receive a GIGABYTE Ultra Durable VGA GTX285 graphics card. To make things more interesting, any contestant that beats the Gigabyte benchmark for that round will double his/her prize. Prizes will be awarded for the top 3DMark Vantage performance scores and benchmark fps score in Resident Evil 5.
Contestants may use any brand of graphics card but all scores must be recorded with the appropriate chipset as laid out in the competition website; unfortunately we were not provided with a link to that web site but you can check out the competition on Facebook and Twitter. Apparently the first round will focus on the GeForce GTX 260 card and all kinds of cooling methods are allowed.
Even if you don't feel like you have a shot at the title, all entrants will be eligible for a drawing for a Gigabyte GM-M8000 professional gaming mouse so be sure to check out the Facebook and Twitter links as well as the Gigabyte Super Overclock Series cards.
