Since introducing the HX520W and HX620W units a few years ago, Corsair's PSU range has been widely praised for its consistent high quality. Launching today is the HX650W, which now becomes the successor of the popular HX620W. Being part of Corsair's "professional" series of power supplies, it offers up flat modular cables, 80 PLUS Bronze certification and a single 12V rail that delivers up to 52A (624W, or 96% of the total power output of the the PSU). It also guaranteed to deliver 100% of its rated power up to an ambient temperature of 50c. With four PCI Express power connectors, it should provide a good option for those looking to run SLI or Crossfire configurations without opting for one of the more monstrously rated units we see available on the market. It slips into the HX range a peg below the HX750W, which when reviewed here at OCC managed to earn an editors choice award. If it can match the performance of its bigger brothers then Corsair should be on to another winner. The HX650W is listed on Newegg now for $139.99.
