Gmail, the e-mail service from Google, has just recently passed AOL to move into third place among e-mail services. The rankings are based on number of monthly visitors, with the numbers compiled by ComScore. Google still trails Hotmail, at 47 million, and Yahoo, at 106 million. The number of Gmail users will likely find itself increasing from the current 37 million, as many businesses and even schools are switching to Gmail. My own university, the Rochester Institute of Technology, will be switching to Gmail for all incoming Freshmen and will allow upperclassmen to switch as well. I personally use Gmail and love the service, and recommend it to anyone that inquires about e-mail.
