Hardware Roundup: Weekend Edition
Solid state drives are becoming common place these days - at least in the world of reviews. The speed and power saving advantages are the biggest advantages, but one not so little aspect of solid state drives is the performance degradation that occurs over time. The latest round of drives from Intel promote the ability to upgrade the firmware to be able to use the TRIM function to supported under Windows 7 when its released this fall. OCZ and Indilinx have worked together on a new set of firmware that helps reduce the problem and restore drives to like-new performance. Our weekend roundup also includes a look at Sapphire's Radeopn HD 4890 Vapor-X 2GB graphics card (also reviewed by OCC here).
