Intel and Facebook have joined forces to create the "Progress Through Processors" program to benefit the research of cures for cancer, HIV and Alzheimer's. Often, these massive and intense research programs require thousands upon thousands of hours of computations, far beyond what many of these organizations can provide or afford, but now you, I and anyone else with a computer can help. Working much the same as Folding@Home does, users can go to the Facebook page, download and install the Progress Through Processors client, and select either Rosetta@home, Africa@home or Climateprediction.net, and put all their unused CPU cycles to good work.
