SilverStone has announced its new RAVEN RV02 chassis, an upgrade to the RAVEN RV01, that features something it calls 'stack cooling'. This refers to the natural tendency for hot air to rise and it has altered the traditional motherboard orientation by 90 degrees so the traditional back of the board with the I/O panel is oriented at the top of the case. With all the cards now in a vertical position, the three 180mm fans at the bottom of the case can cool the cards more effectively and make use of the stack cooling effect to eliminate hot spots in the case. The power supply also get a vertical mounting orientation so all exhausts are facing the top. With a single 120mm exhaust fan, the case gains a positive air pressure which is supposed to help keep the amount of dust to a minimum. The case also features eight drive bays, a 2.5" HDD/SSD mounting slot and room for four 10.5" dual-slot videocards.
