GeIL Launches Green Series Memory Kits

Component makers today ignore the 'green' movement at their own peril with environmental concerns being what they are. Today GeIL announced its Green Series memory kits designed to be 'green' from the amount of power used to the impact of its packaging on the environment. The kits are designed to run at 1.3V, 10~20% lower than those of JEDEC standard. There are four members in the series consisting of different capacities and speeds. The first modules are PC3-8500 DDR3-1066 with timings of 8-8-8-20 and a faster set of PC3-10660 DDR3-1333 with 9-9-9-24 timings. The dual-channel modules will come in both 2GB (2 x GB) and 4GB (2 x 2GB) kits packaged in recycled paper pulp.
