It seems as though ASUS may be one of the first to begin offering USB 3.0 ports on its motherboards, if pictures of the P6X58 Premium are anything to go by. The board features two USB 3.0 ports, powered by NEC's µ PD720200 USB 3.0 controller, with the rest of of the USB ports (4) being of the rather less exciting USB 2.0 variety. As it's an X58 board, it is of course designed to accommodate Core i7 processors and packs in many of the other other features you would expect from a premium motherboard of that ilk. This also includes SATA ports that support the new 6Gb/s standard. Naturally there is no word on pricing or a release date for the board, though at the moment there isn't any USB 3.0 equipped gear available to make use of those shiny new ports anyway. You can find a number of nice close up shots of the P6X58 Premium at Xfastest forums.
