Patriot Upgrades Torqx Line of Solid State Drives

Patriot has upgraded it Torqx line of solid states drives with the announcement today of the new M28 series. The new lineup consists of 128GB or 256GB capacity models and both get double the cache of the previous Torqx drives going from 64MB to 128MB. According to Patriot this enables faster transfers between the controller and the host device in both random and sequential I/O operations with up to 220MB/s sequential read speeds and sequential write speeds of up to 200MB/s. Patriot is even sweetening the pot a bit more by boosting the warranty on all it Torqx line of drives from 2 to 10 years and is even going so far as to make the enhanced warranty period retroactive to cover all consumer purchases of the drives prior to the announcement. Patriot didn't provide pricing or availability on the M28 drives but existing Torqx models range from $380-$700US depending on size.
