Google Apps is Out of Beta

The Google Apps Suite is finally out of the beta stage. Gmail was in beta for five years, and the Apps suite was in beta for 2 years. Google realized that some organizations were nervous about using a beta product as an office suite. Google decided that it was best to bring the suite out of beta to attempt to lure those companies in. Google has said that coming out of beta does not mean that support and innovation will suffer, but rather new innovations will continue to be made. However, one drawback is that it appears Google will now charge for the Apps suite. The Platinum Edition for businesses will run $50 per year per user, a rather hefty price. The Standard Edition will be free, but a domain name is required to use it. A domain name will run $10 per year if you don't currently own one. I've tried accessing Google Docs and simply get an error; not sure if there's a glitch currently or Google is actually going to charge. Hopefully Google Docs will remain free for home users and simply have the beta tags removed.
