StarCraft II multiplayer will be Battle.net only

StarCraft fans got some disappointing news today as Rob Pardo, VP of game design for Blizzard Entertainment, announced during an interview with IncGamers that they "don't have any plans to support LAN" for StarCraft II. He went on to affirm the comment stating, "we will not support it". Those seeking multiplayer excitement, even with those sitting on a PC next to you, will be required to use Blizzard's Battle.net service. Pardo's comments were later verified by gaming site IGN when they contacted Blizzard's office for clarification.

This sucks. Spawn copies + LAN = WIN! I used to do that with my friends all the time.

No kidding. My step dad has 3 PCs (Win 95) set up on an isolated network for one purpose, StarCraft LAN games.

Developers at Blizzard are morons to think that this won't hurt the game. LAN play is one of the most important aspects of Blizzard games. Bad Move. I think that they are going to loose my money for this.
