Razer's much anticipated gaming headset, the Razer Megalodon is now available for pre-orders to ship on June 30. The Razer Megalodon was originally announced in August last year and was expected to be released before Christmas, but the launch was delayed until late this month. The Razer Megalodon features a circumural design (like the Razer Carcharias) and 7.1 channel virtual surround sound provided by an internal sound card. The Megalodon's audio processing is based around Razer's Maelstrom audio engine which was derived from military grade audio technology originally used for training fighter pilots. Also included on the headset is a noise-filtering microphone. Razer has posted an unboxing video of the Megalodon and is running a contest to win one on it's Facebook page. The Razer Megalodon retails for US$150 and will be available for general purchase on June 30 at 10am PST exclusively at razerzone.com.
