China Isn't The Only Country With an Internet Filter

With all of the attention being directed at China these days, it is easy to forget that Australia is also planning to put an internet filter into place. The latest news to come of this is that many popular video games will be on the blocked list. The highest rating that video games can receive is the MA 15+ rating, which means that all video games intended for people above the age of 15 will be blocked. After the filter is fully put into place, citizens won't have access to downloadable games or flash games. In what seems to be the most extreme instance of the filter, sites that sell games that don't meet this criteria will also be blocked. Recently, Fallout 3 had to change the content found in the game in order to be sold in the country.

being a modern and computer and gaming literate being an understatement (i am a member of OCC after all) and above all an Aussie this has had me outraged for awhile. i just cannot start putting words to the concept of this, especially how it will affect my gaming as with my twisted tastes everything will be blindfolded from me and i will be left in the dark and i vow here that if this ends in the OverClockers Club being blocked from me that i will take this as far as i can to liberate the Australian people from the social wool that will be pulled over our eyes worse then any "Matrix" could offend and outrage for we know of its coming. That's all i am to say although last i heard it was still a concept all be it a concept far to looked into by my government!

OMFG I swear, I don't think Kevin Rudd is a bad PM, far from it, but this is just taking his "responsibilities" to protect people too far.
