Kingston may have beaten everyone to the punch with the announcement of its 128GB DT200 flash drive, but they're no longer the only player in the game. OCC has received advanced notice that Edge Tech plans to announce its own 128GB DiskGO drive some time next week, and like the Kingston line, the company also offers 32- and 64GB models as well. The 64- and 128GB products come with an all-aluminum case and offer full data encryption capability through the included trial version of CryptArchiver software. Edge Tech also offers a full version of CryptArchiver via its support site which can encrypt up to 32GB, and exceeds the U.S. government standard for encryption strength using either 256-bit AES or 448-bit Blowfish encryption.
Edge Tech will make the 128GB drive available July 31 but units can be pre-ordered for $389.95, over $150 less than the Kingston DT200 128GB drive. Edge Tech also throws in free shipping, a lifetime warranty and toll-free technical support.
