If the common flash drive's 4GB or 8GB of storage (they are avalaible in larger capacities, but are far more common at lower capacities) just isn't enough, then Kingston may have a solution...if you're willing to pay the price. Yesterday, Kingston announced the 128GB Data Traveler 200 flash drive. The USB flash drive offers an enormous amount of storage, but carries a hefty price tag of $546USD. If that is just too much to pay, Kingston is also offering a 32GB ($120USD) and a 64GB ($213USD) version in the Data Traveler 200 line. All three drives in the Data Traveler 200 line share the same capabilities and differ only in the housing color (32GB is blue and black, 64GB is yellow and black, 128GB is solid black). The drives do not have a cap for the USB plug, but rather implement a slide design that allows the plug to retract into the body for protection while not in use. The drives are not as small as some of the more recent USB flash drives available; the dimensions are 2.77" x 0.49" x 0.89" (70.39mm x 12.52mm x 22.78mm). All drives in the line sport a five year warranty with 24/7 tech support. Password protection is also included to help safeguard the data that the user is carrying on the drive.
It should be mentioned that the 128GB model is a build-to-order device. It can be ordered through standard methods (e-commerce sites or resellers), but will not be in-stock as it must be assembled. Also, if you look at the pricing, two of the 64GB and one of the 32GB models can be purchased for the price of a single 128GB model. Unless a file is larger than what the 64GB drive can handle, the 128GB drive is not a smart purchase.
