Thecus has upgraded its product line with an enhanced version of its 5-bay network attached storage device. Dubbed the N5500, the new unit builds on the success of the Thecus N5200 with new, more advanced features. The N5500's five hot-swappable drive bays can support up to 10TB of storage with a full range of RAID modes including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and JBOD. With data protection one of its primary features the N5500 also has online RAID expansion, online RAID migration, and auto rebuild capabilities. The N5500 extends its protection features by offering dual LAN connections with automatic failover and dual copies of the embedded operating system in the event one of the flash modules fails. Debuting for the first time is Thecus' new AJAX-based web interface with a more intuitive an user-friendly design. Taken all together these features add up to a secure and efficient way to store your data.
