Got a Faulty GPU? Stick it in the Oven!

Do you have any video cards lying around the house that just refuse to work? Ones you've completely given up on? Why don't you try popping them in the oven? That is what one enthusiast did, and to everyone's surprise, it worked. Apparently the oven melts the solder, fixing any miniature cracks that might be leading to poor connection. If anyone does try it, be sure to tell us! But please do be careful, as OCC can not be held liable for any burned down cities, ovens permanently gaining a video card attachment, or any other damages.

hmm... toxic in an oven?

make sure it is RoHS compliant or else lead is in the card. This works for certain versions of xbox 360s because of the gpu/cpu connections being seperated from the board due to torsion from bad motherboard standoffs. But this would not likely fix many GPU's from my experience. Good luck to anyone who tries it, and be safe

Why did he stick it back in his computer after it had been cooked?

@tacohunter He was trying to repair it by reflowing solder, his may have had a bad connection or been damaged by a cooler or something... Or the cake is a lie.

that last or is unnecessary. but yeah, take care kids! some cards might create lead fumes that aren't really healthy.
