Corsair has broken the world record for DDR3 frequency on the Core i7 platform achieving the blazing speed of 2533MHz with the timings 7-8-7-20. Corsair Labs attained this feat with 6GB of Dominator GT 2000C7 tri-channel memory and the eVGA X58 3X SLI motherboard. The record has been verified by CPU-Z and the validation can be seen here. Corsair say that they have shown once again that their engineering team is unsurpassed in performance. The CPU-Z world record screenshot can be viewed here and an image of the CPU-Z settings are available here. I must admit I'm impressed with Corsair's results, but with a huge overclocking community (such as here at Overclockers Club) I'm sure somebody new will take the crown soon enough.
