Wal-Mart has been expanding the technology section in its stores with high definition televisions and Blu-Ray to hopefully pick up some of the Circuit City crowd. But are there other motives at work here? Someone at Barclays Capital believes so. It is believed that Wal-Mart is hoping to bring more Apple products within its walls, specifically Mac computers. Wal-Mart currently sells iPods and iPhones, and Best Buy is an already an authorized Apple retailer so it is definitely a possibility. Despite the fact that being carried by Wal-Mart would have the potential to greatly expand the reach of Macs, it seems unlikely that a company that features discounted prices would carry such expensive computers. Compromise would likely have to occur between the two parties, and Apple hasn't been one to reduce prices over the years.
