After a few reports of lithium-ion batteries overheating and producing flames or some amount of fire, Hewlett-Packard is recalling various batteries that it has in its laptops. These models of batteries include those that were made between August 2007 and March of last year. The reports were filed with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, so while this issue is not too wide spread in terms of incidents, the threat is surely there.
