Just when we thought that everyone was transitioning to DDR3 memory, OCZ have release a bunch of new DDR2 low voltage RAMs. They will be released into OCZ’s famous Blade and Platinum series, which are known for their low price and high performance, especially their platinum series. What makes these nice as well is the speeds that they come with – ranging from 1066Mhz, to 1150MHz and even 1200MHz which we haven’t seen in a long time, and another good thing is that these cards come at a rated voltage of 1.8V with the same 5-5-5-18 latencies. These are OCZ’s FIRST RAM kits that come with under 2.0V’s and thanks to their extended voltage protection you can bump up the voltage to 1.85 to OC your RAM even more! This was a slick move from OCZ for those who want to keep their legacy systems still going with even faster RAM. Below is the list (with links) of the RAM Kits:
OCZ PC2-9600 Blade Series Low Voltage (2x2GB) 5-5-5-18 @ 1.8V
OCZ PC2-9200 Blade Series Low Voltage (2x2GB) 5-5-5-18 @ 1.8V
OCZ PC2-8500 Blade Series Low Voltage (2x2GB) 5-5-5-18 @ 1.8V
OCZ PC2-9600 Platinum Series Low Voltage (2x2GB) 5-5-5-18 @ 1.8V
OCZ PC2-9200 Platinum Series Low Voltage (2x2GB) 5-5-5-18@ 1.8V
OCZ PC2-8500 Platinum Series Low Voltage (2x2GB) 5-5-5-18@ 1.8V

I must say the Blade series intrigues me. I do wish they would use colored PCB for special RAM however, so it tidys up the appearance.

Good DDR3 mobos are now available for both Intel and AMD CPUs, and the "much money than sense" users will go for i7, with triple DDR3, by default, so I don't see the point of these except for, slow to upgrade, existing Intel mobo users.

1200 MHz at 1.8V is awesome ;) I wish I had a pair of those and a good DDR2 board, those chips probably have very good OC potential
