Recent moves by Apple are fueling speculation that it plans to make a splash in the gaming arena. Some of the notable acquisitions are of people, and not companies or intellectual property. Richard Teversham, a director in the Xbox division of Microsoft, and Bob Drebin, designer of the Gamecube processor, top the list. Apple already has its foot in the door of the hand held market with the iPhone, and its brand power could attract non-gamers. A wild rumor involving Apple purchasing Electronic Arts has also been making its way around Wall Street, which many analysts feel will never materialize based on the fact that it wouldn't improve its current business.
