Google Sees the Ocean As Future of Data Centers

Google has received a patent for a new kind of data center. A data center that is both green and mobile. The new data centers from Google would float in the ocean, presumably in a ship of some sort, and would be entirely self sufficient. The data centers would be equipped with generators that would take advantage of the power generated by the movement of the ocean. Google also plans to take advantage of the seemingly endless cooling potential of the ocean by incorporating it into a liquid cooling system. This is another exciting development from Google, but may not be put into practice for some time as a result of the current economy.
