Well, as common as 16GB of RAM is, Corsair has decided to release their nice new shiny 16GB kit, which is initially 4x4GB of RAM. It’s about time that a company started mass producing 16GB kits of RAM, because ‘Supports up to 16GB of RAM’ on a motherboard was more or less a myth. Well, now it’s not a myth, at least not to home users. This nice new expensive (?) memory will come at 800MHz, with CL 6-6-6-18 at 1.8v which isn’t really aimed towards overclockers, but to a different type of market like video editors or photo manipulators that benefit from the extra capacity. The kit should be publicly available soon along with the official announcment with the manufacturing code being QUAD2X16G-6400.
