As we reported yesterday AMD released two new products aimed at the budget-minded consumer. First up is the AMD Athlon X2 7850 Black Edition AM2+ CPU (reviewd by OCC here). The 7850 is a 65nm process CPU clocked at 2.8GHz with 2MB of shared L3. Priced at just $69US, this mid-range dual-core processor may be just the best bang for the buck out there right now. AMD also released its HD 4770 videocard based on the RV740 core, the first to be produced using a 40nm process. Priced at under $100US, this puts the HD 4770 up against NVIDIA’s 9800GT, but promises to be less power hungry. Performance-wise, the HD 4770 sports a core clock of 750MHz and 512MB of GDDR5 memory.
